The graphic design program at William Woods University combines creativity with leading-edge technology to prepare students for a career in the graphic design field. Courses in drawing, basic design, photography, color and light serve as a foundation for more advanced studies in computer design, digital imaging, electronic publishing and web design.

Portfolio development and professional preparation also play key roles in the graphic design curriculum. An annual portfolio review culminates with a senior exhibition in the university's gallery highlighting student artistic achievements. Students also have the opportunity to work with actual "real world" clients during their final semester.

Success in graphic design is directly related to a knowledge and understanding of technology. All students majoring in graphic design are required to have a laptop computer. In the hands of a creative person, a computer is a powerful tool for personal growth, exploration and artistic development. As graphic design majors, students are eligible to receive a bachelor of art, bachelor of fine art or a bachelor of science degree.
