Service learning projects have become valued learning activities for art students at William Woods. One example is the annual art activities at St. John's Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.  Here students plan and conduct therapeutic art activities with patients at Halloween and Valentine's Day at the hospital's David Pratt Cancer Center. The project, the brainchild of Art Professor Terry Martin, is now in its fourth year. Similar activities with St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City are being planned for the 2008-09 school year.
