The theatre program at WWU trains students in all aspects of theatre, focusing on performance, theatre technology and musical theatre. We also offer theatre education to prepare future drama teachers. Even as freshmen, students have opportunities for immediate mainstage experience because we show no preferences in casting. Students are able to gain valuable experience in four mainstage productions, student laboratory productions and other performance/technical opportunities. Students work with a variety of guest directors and designers. The theatre major balances a strong academic program with a cocurricular production season and an annual portfolio review. Minors available include theatre and music.

The professionalism that is always encouraged has given me a great foundation and resume for my pursuits in theatre for the future."

Meghan Parks, theatre major from Quincy, Ill.
